Cheap Dedicated Server
Hosting Reviews > Dedicated Servers > Cheap

A Plus Hosting
Setup Fee: $0

A Plus Hosting offers a number of cheap dedicated servers. Their cheapest offer starts with $49/m for a 1.0GHz Celeron with 256MB of RAM. A 1.7GHz machine can be rented for $65, this will include 512MB RAM, but bandwidth is still limited to 1.5mbps for 480GB/month.

A reasonable offer for hosting resellers is their $99/m deal for 2.4GHz Intel Pentium 4. This comes with 1GB of DDR RAM installed with the ability to add another 1GB for only $19.95/m. What's not matching is the unnecessarily large 160GB Hard Disk. A 60/80 GB would have just worked fine for starters and could have brought the price even lower.

Setup Fee: $0

Their entry in "cheap dedicated server" category might come as a surprise to those of our visitors who are familiar with this company.

They have an excellent record of customer support. You can search for them on Web Hosting Talk and read some excellent reviews.

Normally their servers are not very cheap and come with high setup cost, but they do have a pretty active "Closeout Section" where it's not rare to find Celeron 1.7GHz for $70 only. A P4 with 2.4GHz can be shopped for $109/m. By the way, the RAM configuration on most of their closeout deals is 512MB.

CPanel/WHM will cost you an extra $20/m or you can opt for an unlimited Plesk license for $30/m.

Another good point is that upgrading your hardware doesn't cost a bomb with them.

Completely Dedicated
Setup Fee: $0

Let's see what you can get for $59/m only. It's an AMD 2200 Sempron with 512MB of RAM. Not much information on the website and if you don't mind AMD then you are better off with the next company that we are reviewing in a moment. Time to hit the "Back" button for those who have followed the link :)

Value Web
Setup Fee: Varies By Server

An AMD 1.3 Duron at $59/m doesn't sound bad. Specially when it has 512MB RAM and 60 Gigabytes of storage space. Though the one we are talking about falls in availability-based Special Deals, but on and off you get to exploit the low cost on their pre-owned servers.

They also have an attractive Intel 1.7GHz for $79/m, all the year round standard plan, but not without a setup fee of $99. You have an option of either Plesk or Ensim as control panel software at an extra fee. Urchin stats are also available as an upgrade. Plus backup services start for as low as $35 for 10GB data. Of course you get to backup a lot more data at very slight increase in cost but even a $15 saving is good when you won't be using the extra storage units.

Mega Net Serve
Setup Fee: Varies By Server OS

The Celeron series starts at $49/m only. 1.7GHz with 512MB RAM and 40GB Hard Drive is the packaged deal. An upgrade to 80GB storage capacity will cost you extra $20/m only, CPanel for unlimited domains is available at $30, and keep $8/m for those extra 4 IP addresses you need in addition to the solo that comes by default.

At this price we don't expect them to offer any server management tasks, just to ensure the availability of guaranteed uptime will be great. Unlike many other "cheap hosts" selling servers for $49 only, they know where there datacenter is located :)

NOC 4 Hosts
Setup Fee: $299

Ok, the setup fee is just too much for a cheap dedicated server, but you gotta have a look at their offers and enhanced services.

1.7GHz Celeron with 512MB RAM only costs $49.95/m. Normally this low price will give me a signal to hit the 'x' or back button, but with the kind of advanced services they are offering, their deals do look reliable.

For extra monthly charges they are offering DDOS Protection, KVM Over IP Rental and Remote Reboot. Maybe I don't need all of these, but to know that a $49/m dedicated host also provides these builds the element of trust when I have yet to try their services.

Then there's no catch with their pricing on hardware upgrades. Another 512MB memory slot costs $15/m and the second hard drive can be ordered for as low as $10/m extra. They also provide you with an option of low cost backup server, but you'll have to speak to one of their representatives for that. Time to test their online sales support I guess :)
